Pink and Mustard

6
Oh I feel like I took these pictures so long ago. It was the a couple of weeks ago now, just when us Vancouverites were starting to get real warm weather. (Finally). I have been spending much of my free time outside and I love it. I was never that person who really enjoys Summer, but now that has completely changed. I love Summer, it is probably my favourite season. I just love the simplicity of it, and the smell, just yesterday I was at the beach and walking along the pier where the wild flowers are uh the smell is amazing. Its hard to explain but that smell of warm grass and salty air. I could just sit there for hours just enjoying everything. Although reapplying suncream gets annoying after a while, but us pale variety have to so as to not look like a lobster.

I love this dress, I think the shape is perfect and because it is thin straps it is perfect for those hot summer days. Also I have seriously been loving mustard and pink together. I would have never thought to pair the two but after seeing Marianne of Esme and the laneway wear it so well I had try it, and I think its a new favourite combo. :)

I'll keep it short today but I will be back soon. I have a couple of post lined up, just a matter of posting now. I'll see you soon. Happy Tuesday. :)

Lately

Im back, re inspired and ready for the next season. I took a break from the internet...well I still went online to find gorgeous new to me dresses. I thought my first post back should be of what has been going on the the last couple of months. The pictures seem stretched here...opps.

STRAWBERRY

Last Wednesday I went strawberry picking and then flower shopping, I like how the flowers matched my dress. :)

Well I'll be back later this week and am excited. :)

New Things and Spring Dreams

I am so glad to leave March behind, it was a pretty rough month for me so good riddance. Any hoo I have bought many new dresses and they finally arrived. (I actually have a couple stuck in customs or are just taking their sweet time to get here). The weather was amazing over the weekend, on Sunday it was 19c which is pretty much our summer here on the WestCoast, but today its back to the normal overcast :( I can not wait for warm weather again, I even bought a Wisteria plant yesterday, I love Wisteria and I think it's totally going to be worth the up keep. :) DRESSESThe dress with the red roses was a custom made dress from Oh Sew Vintage and I absolutely adore it  I've worn already a few times since it arrived. I don't think anything can ever beat a 50s style cotton dress.

Can you spot Mr.Fred?
purse
I bought this purse at the flea market, I don't think its vintage or anything but I love the look and it looked like it would keep things organized, I really dislike purses where everything is tumbling around on the inside. The best part was that it cost me $2.25. :)
lighthouse
I bought a few more things but didn't take a photo but I had to show this Lighthouse that really is a bird house. Oh I love it, I love Lighthouses and I just couldn't pass this up :) I hope everyone is having a lovely start to April, and have plenty of Easter Chocolates. :)

Toile de Jouy

My favourite thing of the week, Toile de Jouy ( you can find out more about the fabric in apartment therapy design dictionary ) If you haven't noticed I love the patterns, I had a curtains made because I love it that much. I know its not everyones taste but I thinks it so fun, and I think it all started with watch my most favourite show ever, Pushing Daisies. I took inspiration from Olive Snook's bedroom, the set design on that show is phenomenal and I can go on for hours so I'll stop here....or else I really will go on for hours and hours, I am hopelessy devouted to that show.

Olive's Pajamas match too.

Dita Von Teese
First off I have to say that I have a such a girl crush of Dita von Teese, I adore her and so wanted to purchase her beauty book but found out its not being release until November. Obviously I want her wardrobe, but she also seems so sweet and sincere in her interviews, she knows who she is and she owns it. Definitely not a pretentious celebrity.

I have be scouring the web in search of a blue Toile de Jouy 50s dress and have had no luck, I made the mistake of not purchasing a very well priced dress on etsy when I had a chance. Sad Stefanie. BUT Bernie Dexter to the rescue. The dress shape is perfect, however I really want it in the blue fabric like Dita's, so heres to hoping Bernie releases one in blue too.

Can I just own all the Bernie Dexter dresses. So many pretties on that site. I really liked the Frenchie dress because it has a very similar pattern and the colours are beautiful. Below are a few dresses from etsy, I love them but sadly some weren't in my size or were in the red pattern.
